God, I Must Be Getting Older...

I think I've hit that point in life where you kind of realize that you are no longer 18. I mean, I haven't been 18 for almost six years now, but after this weekend, I think I have finally broken out of my chrysalis and emerged middle aged. I guess it was inevitable. I mean, I hate going to bars for obvious reasons (syn), and I've never really been a big drinker. I'm also a hermit.

But all of those things kind of came together this weekend.

I am slowly discovering the world of knitting. And by slowly discovering, I mean I can't be allowed in front of a TV with knitting needles and yarn else I will nest there until whatever project I'm working on has been given a hefty start. By this I mean nearly finished. And if I'm almost finished, then why wouldn't I just stay up the extra 3 hours to finish? Logic. Solid.

This weekend, even though it was beeeeeeeeeeee-autiful out, I spent a good deal of it inside. Don't worry, I got plenty of fresh air walking the pooch-pup and frolicking outside in the snow with him (which is highly entertaining, I must say), and I managed to talk myself into going out to my brothers' place AND my parents place, but other than that? I rocked out in my own little world. My world has slippers, and tea, and books, and fluffy robes, and entire seasons of shows to be watched. It's a great world- one that I often refer to as, 'Alexandra-land'.

Here's a little picture of my weekend project! I also made four or five other scarves, but I forgot to take pictures of those guys... oh well!

Sweet, sweet success!! Knitting, I understand. I get the way it works and I love doing it! On the flip side, crochet is a beast all its' own. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW TO DO IT. Every single time, I end up either losing a truck load of stitches or, even more mysteriously, ADDING stitches. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. I don't know. My Mom is a pro at it, and every time I show up at her door, there's a new perfectly square dishcloth there waiting for me. I don't understand. Must be witchcraft.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!

Even Youtube can't figure out what my problem is, and that is a depressing factor all the same. When does Youtube ever fail anyone? Sigh.

I also had a rather fantastic photoshoot with my brother this weekend! He offered to do some headshots for me so that I can have a new picture for this little cyber bubble! :) More on that later! I cannot wait to see the results though! It should be interesting to see how many of them my eyes are actually open for. Usually when I smile all big and perdy-like, my eyes freak out and disappear. But I'm super excited to see the pictures! I'm usually the one behind the camera, so having to stare down the barrel of a professionals lens was a tad intimidating, but my brother is a pro at making it a fun environment!

Anywho, I'll have a more substance-y post soon! :)

Same Bat-time, same Bat-place!

  4. I guess I have a few more years until I hit the knitting needles hard, but I'm definitely a homebody too! Sweatpants and the couch are just too inviting.

    1. I swear, sweatpants and the couch are a vortex couple. When the two collide... NOTHING HAPPENS.

    1. I had to get my husband's grandmother to help me because I could not for the life of me figure it out. I think there was one specific youtube video I watched when I got stuck... I'll try and find it and post it!!
